Brief

Project title: N/A
Film type: Documentary
Time frame: 6-10 minutes
Subject: Leaving Sixth form

Our documentary will be about what it is like to be leaving school: this will include exams, applying for university, careers, apprenticeships and how people feel about leaving school and their friends.

We will start the documentary with a narrative with photos of students through the years, the narrative will be giving a general idea on what the documentary is about to someone who doesn't already know. Then we will record interviews of students talking about them leaving, their plans and how it feels, then we will talk to that students friends asking similar questions to get other views, plans and feelings about leaving both the school and friends. We will finish with some more pictures of the students in the sixth form and leaving with some more narration or responses on top.

For the part where we interview the person leavings friends, we will have their names at the bottom and them talking about how they feel about the person leaving then the actual person who is leaving where we will ask about their plans; if they are applying for university or an apprenticeship or maybe a job as well as leaving their friends as some go to other schools and some stay for further sixth form.

The issues and challenges we could face will be finding someone willing to be interviewed for the documentary and getting photos and videos. Also we will have to make sure the person is reliable and their lessons don’t coincide and interfere with filming. However the biggest risks we could encounter during this is two things, either the loss of the camera or the deletion of our video files when we aren't done. There will of course be standard health risks as well such as injuring oneself or our interview subjects and there is also the risk of breaking things.
